About Us

12 years ago, in February 2010, an Artisan revolution was set in motion. Along with ten other female artisans, Yaz Meen a.k.a Madame Yasmeen created a project called “The Open Air Stock Exchange.” The idea was to create a regular Artisanal cooperative market where artisans would exhibit consistently and on a regular basis.

“As an Artisan myself making skincare and wellness products I was struggling to find a place to sell my products. Creating this sales platform would be an exciting new journey, paving the way for many artisans and entrepreneurs to be able to market their businesses and sell their products.

In sync with the Green Butterfly brand, spreading eco-friendly culture, the project was eventually re-named the GREEN BUTTERFLY MARKET and has grown from strength to strength. Most of the artisans we support are women in the informal sector who are in business to help support their families.

The Green Butterfly Market now operates every first and third Saturday of the month at the Department of Parks and Gardens near the Italian Embassy and opposite DVLA in Cantonments, Accra.
